Where to Start with Lamb's Driving
School Before We Start Legal
Requirements.
You should be a minimum of 17
years of age and in possession of a provisional driving
licence.
In
order to start learning to drive, you must complete a driving licence application
form D1. These can be obtained at most larger post offices. The current cost of
the licence is £38 It is well worth remembering
that it is illegal to drive without a qualified driver who has been qualified
for at least three years and is over the age of 21 to accompany you until you
have passed all parts of the driving test. To
avoid disappointment, you should ensure that your eyesight meets the required
standards i.e. that you are able to read a number plate from a distance of 20.5
metres (approximately 67 feet). If you need to
wear glasses or contact lenses then these should be worn at all times when driving.
It is not a requirement that you have a certain
number of lessons before applying for your driving test - everybody learns at
different speeds and we will advise you when you are ready for your test. Tests.
There are now three separate elements
to the driving test: - The theory test
- The
hazard perception test
- The practical
These are taken in just two separate tests
as the theory & hazard perception tests are combined.
